San Felipe Mexican Restaurant in Pittsboro

While the prices have gone up quite a bit in the last year, this is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. Great house salsa, friendly staff, kid friendly, interesting house specialties. Hard to complain.

The best Mexican food in the area for sure! For quality / price San Felipe can't be beat. Real salsa, Modelo with a lime, nice dishes, authentic music, excellent food and service. Five stars no doubt!! Worth the drive.

Love San Felipe . My favorite is chimichanga and my daughter loves acp/ my honey likes the steak fijita.

Everyone is always friendly at San Felipe! The food is great too! My toddler LOVES it there and eats everything. The stafg are really great to him, bringing spoons for him to eat with and playing trucks with him as well. We love it at San Felipe.

After being seated warm chips and salsa (which are free!) Are brought to the table. The salsa heat is just right. All the food is good but best is the Texas Fajita for 2, made of steak, chicken and shrimp.

San Felipe is part of a locally owned chain of Tex-Mex restaurants. This is not authentic Mexican food, though there are some traditional dishes on the menu. If you're into street food, try los tacos a la parilla. The dining room is split down the middle in a largely booth configuration. It keeps it from getting too loud, even when it's full. Several televisions will be showing soccer. Monday through Thursday there is a $1 margarita special. Reservations are not required, but you may want to call in advance if you're bringing a group. Provecho!

PBO now has multiple Mexican restaurants. However, if great service, consistently delicious food at good prices is what you are looking for....this is your place. The others are a crapshoot at best...not to mention...I guess those places charge out the nose to pay their rent.

Half star If I could! Food good but price gouging for to go orders on simple stuff like salsa! Wow you can walk inside and eat a five gallon bucket full at no charge but charge you $5.00 for ounce of it extra in a to go orders WTH? And barley a pickeld jalapeno in a cup $5.00

Poor quality food small portions $16 for three beef tacos. Go to Taco Bell they have better food!!!

Our waiter was Luis. The service was absolutely amazing! Me and my sweetheart will definitely be back again!

Food is really not bad but.. service is not up to expectation. I mean we had good experiences in the past. This time we came, the waitress was rude. We had a party of 10 and I think she just doesn't understand us. 2 orders came out wrong. I don't know what happened to this place. We'll come back and hope for a different waitress next time!

Quick, decent standards of chain Mexican establishments

My husband and I wandered here from just driving from a stressful day. The friendly staff, reasonably priced large portions of our favorite dish (ACP) lifted our spirits and got us feeling Thanks, San Felipe! You’ve made us so happy. We’ll be back.

Good food and the service are awesome

As a displaced Texan, it's hard to find decent TexMex in NC. San Felipe is good and we will be back. I enjoyed the steak, chicken, carnitas and chorizo mixture in the Fajitas San Felipe. My wife enjoyed a been taco. We still haven't found a cheese enchilada we like.

Tried it foenthenfirst time today. Very good food. Kind and speedy service. A mist try if you in Pittsburgh.

This is a reliable spot for perfection on a plate, from the Chile de àrbol salsa, to the excellent service and ingredients. San Felipe isn’t only slinging the most authentic and well prepared dishes, but also genuinely is one of the best f’kin restaurants in Pittsboro regardless of price or style of cooking. Eat here or you are missing out 🤷‍♂️

I'm not a big fan or Mexican food but my wife is. Went there expecting to not be satisfied but was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was phenomenal and the horchata was spot on. Definitely will not hesitate going back here.

Good tasting food. Great service. Quesadilla was not very hot when delivered to my table, but i was greeted and seated delightfully and I think the manager came around to every table. They helped bag my food and a small mint with the check.

Our server was extremely untrained and unapologetic about it. She was misinformed about side items from the menu and when I asked for more time, she brought out my son’s meal. I told her she should have waited and she said he already placed his order and that’s why she brought it. I was going to give her an ugly look but she already had one. Meal was run of the meal cookie cutter chain pretend Mexican food. I mean, bean enchilada? I came here to chat with son and use WiFi with meal, I had to ask several people cause two didn’t volunteer it. Needless to say, this won’t be a place I’ll return to.

Since having mexican in Sanford we know what authentic mexican food is.This is ok but not as good

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. I'm not a chef, so I'm not sure what spice mix they use for their beef, but it is the best beef I've had bar none. The actual restaurant is lovely and cozy in atmosphere and the staff are quick, helpful & friendly. Love this place!

Professional service and good food. The restaurant itself is somewhat small but it was not crowded when I arrived. I had San Felipe steak and it was really tasty. Would be better if it came with more cheese and maybe some sourcream. Chips were fresh, salsa was par. Overall pleasant experience , I well be back to try more dishes in the future.

End of April for my birthday. Had a blast. Everyone came out and sang Happy Birthday to me and of course the food as always was delicious.

Our food came out very quickly, however when it came to pay the bill our waitress was no where to be found. I had to physically get up from our table walk around the restaurant and found a different waitress to take care of the check.

Last visit to this location wasn't great. I ordered nacho supreme, they came with hardly any cheese, and the beef had no seasoning at all, just cooked hamburger meat.... my wife ordered something with chicken and she also thought it was rather bland... we usually go to the siler city location and always have a good experience there, but I'm not sure we will be back to the pittsboro one.
